Next Year's Resolution

I just spent a couple of days in Missouri fishing with Chad Morgenthaler and getting a very preliminary introduction to the Garmin electronics I’ll have on my recently-ordered boat. Watching him use them effortlessly, and interpret the images seamlessly in a blip-to-thought translation, made me realize that I can’t avoid learning them anymore. We caught a lot of fish, and while I’m sure that I could have caught some fish on my own, they would not have been those fish — nor would they have been so numerous. Granted, on my home waters there’s rarely a compelling reason to consistently fish deeper than 6 feet, but I’ll use them there while also opening my eyes to a few other places.
Now I’m off to smallmouth fish with a slate of thoroughbreds in that arena, and while I’m seriously looking for a PB, I also hope I can stop long enough to pick their brains about graphs, too.
Pretty sure I’ve made similar pledges in the past, but this time I’m gonna stick to it. No, really.
