Tattoo You

[As I’ve started to go down the swimbait rabbit hole, at least mentally, I’ve been amazed by the creativity and craftsmanship employed by many of the builders and painters. This week I’m going to feature a few of my favorites.]

Division Rebel Tackle is a tackle company birthed on Japan’s record-producing Lake Biwa. I believe I had the chance to buy some at Carolina Fishing Tackle’s Bassmaster Classic booth last year for what seemed like high prices at the time (think 70 to 90 bucks or so), but would have been only a fraction of what they’re now going for online – if you can get them.

The DRT “Tiny” Klash is a mere 6.6 inches, and even the standard paint schemes are gorgeous (although I’m not sure what “Mystic Weed” and “Lady Ninja” are all about), but on eBay I came across their “Wabori Tattoo” scheme and might’ve drooled a bit down the front of my shirt.

I don’t have any ink of my own, but if I were to get some, I might get a tattoo of this tattooed lure, which would be the most meta fishing art of all time. In this case the tatt would likely not only be more permanent, but also cheaper – right now the cheapest of the three on the popular auction site is $550 (with free shipping).
